Focused Nutcracker training in technique, artistry, and repertoire.

Founded in 2001, Minnesota Ballet School provides exceptional classical ballet education rooted in the traditions of the Vaganova Method. Located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, our school offers professional-quality training for dancers of all ages and levels, from young beginners to advanced students pursuing serious ballet goals.
Founded by Svetlana Bak-Gavrilova and Kirill Bak-Stepanoff, graduates of the renowned Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg, Minnesota Ballet School brings generations of classical ballet tradition, professional experience, and expertise to the classroom.
Our mission is to inspire dancers through disciplined training, artistic development, and individual attention while providing opportunities to perform through Minnesota Ballet Theatre, our affiliated performing company.

From Studio to Stage
Performance is an essential part of training at Minnesota Ballet School. Through Minnesota Ballet Theatre productions, students have opportunities to perform in The Nutcracker and a variety of classical and original productions, developing artistry, confidence, discipline, and stage experience.
Minnesota Ballet Theatre & School was recognized by Quality Business Awards as Best Ballet School in Minneapolis for 2025, receiving a quality score of 95% or higher.
