Introducing the Minnesota Ballet School Pre-Professional Day Program, an innovative platform tailored for aspiring dancers aged 12-18, poised to shape the next generation of dance professionals.
Embark on a transformative journey with our immersive curriculum, meticulously crafted to nurture talent and ignite passion. Led by industry-leading Vaganova Graduate instructors, our morning classes seamlessly blend ballet technique and repertoire exploration, laying the foundation for artistic excellence. Elevate your skills with optional evening sessions designed for Ballet Levels 4-6, featuring specialized training in stretch, strength, and contemporary dance. Additional rehearsal opportunities may also be available after the program for refining technique or preparing for specific performances.

Classes are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Applicants may audition for the program either in person or via video submission. This program also accommodates homeschoolers, allowing flexibility to take morning classes. Select Pre-Professional Day Program students may be invited to dance as Trainees or company members with the professional ballet company, Minnesota Ballet Theatre.
The program is divided by age and experience level to ensure appropriate progression:
- Group 1: Ages 12-14
- Group 2: Ages 15-18

Video Submission Requirements:
- Barre and Center Exercises: Include plié, battement tendu, adagio, pirouettes, petit, medium, and grand allegro, tours en l'air for men, and pointe work for women. A classical ballet variation on pointe is optional.
- Duration: The video should be no longer than five minutes.
- Photos: Include a photo in first arabesque or another ballet pose, and a headshot.
