Summer Camps and Workshops

2025 Minnesota Ballet School summer intensive with two camp sessions and multiple dance techniques.

Summer Intensive (ages 8-18+)

Experience the Minnesota Ballet School Summer Intensive Program, designed to provide exceptional ballet training rooted in Russian classical ballet technique following the Vaganova syllabus. Our Intensive Camp emphasizes the development of ballet technique while also offering supplementary classes in character, pointe, variations, modern, men’s, partnering, and aerial ballet. This program features world-renowned guest teachers, alongside our talented MBS faculty, throughout the intensive.


2-Week Summer Intensive Camps


Open to male and female students ages 9 and older


Camp 1: June 16 – June 27, 2025 | Camp 2: July 7-18, 2025


Classes run from 9am to 1pm, focusing on ballet technique, pointe technique, and repertoire. Dancers will learn variations from classical ballets such as “Sleeping Beauty,” “Giselle,” “Corsair,” and many more.


From 2pm to 4pm, students will continue their training with classes in Contemporary and Aerial Ballet, Character dance, and Partnering. Partnering classes will be offered based on the number of male attendees.


WORLD-RENOWNED FACULTY


The program culminates with a showcase in the Minnesota Ballet School studio on Friday, June 27 and July 18.

YAGP/Competition Contemporary Workshop (ages 9-18+)

Oliver Halkowich, a former soloist dancer at Houston Ballet, now serves as the Choreographer and Trainee Program Director at New Orleans Ballet Theatre, bringing his expertise to the Minnesota Ballet School's summer youth programs.


Join us for a 4-DAY WORKSHOP (ages 9-18+) led by the highly talented instructor, Oliver! This is your opportunity to dive into a carefully structured ballet training program designed to enhance your skills in classical ballet technique and contemporary dance.

Ballet Levels 1-6 classes

BALLET 1 (ages 8-12)

In this ballet training class at the Minnesota Ballet School, barre and center work is introduced, along with age-appropriate stretches. Basic leg and arm positions remain a focus of the class as students work on improving their balance, hopping, skipping, jumping, and galloping. This class is part of our engaging summer youth programs designed for young dancers.


Class Schedule:


Tuesdays, 5:30–6:30 PM (one-hour class, once a week)
