Minnesota Ballet School Summer Intensive Programs offer comprehensive training in Russian classical ballet technique (Vaganova syllabus) and skills development.
Minnesota Ballet School offers a classical ballet program that provides preparatory and systematic ballet training using Vaganova Syllabus, a comprehensive curriculum, proven to instill in dancers incomparable technique, while striving for a greater sense of artistry, clarity, grace, athleticism, speed and musicality.
All Summer Programs have In-Person options. For dancers who are unable to take in person classes, we are also offering a via ZOOM option.
This 2-week program dedicated to explore the demands of deep classical ballet education and a professional career. You’ll be introduced to the world known ballet’s repertory while studying technique, pointe, pas de deux, batterie, contemporary dance, and conditioning.
Ballet Art and Craft camps is always a sure favorite with kids who artistically
inclined or not. Children will have fun to learn dances from MBS repertoire and
creating variety of projects us magic wand, wings, crown or little tutu’s that will be used in dances they learn.

Children’s ballet “Peter and the Wolf” and Grand Pas from ballet “Paquita”.

Showcase 2022 will include 2 enormously popular classical ballets.
Children’s ballet “Peter and the Wolf” set to the music of Sergei Prokofiev and
choreographed by Svetlana Bak-Gavrilova and Kirill Bak-Stepanoff.
“Peter and the Wolf ” is the tale of a brave little boy, who disobeys his Grandfather
and wanders into the meadow where he meets his friends Bird, Duck, and Cat.
Grand Pas from ballet “Paquita” is delightful ballet is known worldwide for its
choreography by M. Petipa and music by Leon Minkus.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, January 9 at MBS studio, 14675 Martin Dr.

The Spring Production contract should be signed with the attached payment fees and $175.00 performance fee before the audition and can be sent by mail or dropped in MBS mailbox by January 9th.
Registration: Please arrive 5 min before your scheduled audition time to check in.

The Spring performance will take shape according to public health guidance,
and may be presented March 26 at 1:00pm.
Attire: Students should arrive wearing the leotards appropriate for their class level and pink tights.
Hair must be in a neat bun and fastened away from their face.
Commitment: All dancers must be willing to commit to a busy schedule of rehearsals and performances. Other extra-curricular activities must not take precedence. Rehearsals will begin in January 18, depending upon assigned role, and will be every Class day (after the regular class) or Saturday and Sunday until the week of performances, which will include one dress rehearsals. Schedules will be posted on the Bulletin Board in the MBS lobby and on the MBS website Rehearsal Page and can be confirmed with
Kirill Bak at (612) 501-9208 in case of any last minute changes.
Parent Information: Parents are requested to attend a Spring Production Meeting in person
at 11:45am on Sunday, January 9. There should be a parent/guardian from each household in attendance. This meeting will give parents the information about designated responsibilities for the safety of their children during the term of the rehearsals and production. Parent Volunteer Forms will be provided and we will discuss the many volunteer positions that need to be assigned every year, such as: backstage assistants, dressing room “moms” for each group of dancers, etc. These are necessary and vital roles to our production, therefore, we encourage parents, other family members and friends to sign up for these duties. You will find that, if past years are the measure, these positions can be a lot of fun, an amazing experience and the key to a smooth and memorable Spring production.

This class is designed to build strength as well as extensions, endurance and balance. Special exercises will focus on muscle stretching and flexing, enhancing pirouettes, increasing movement speed, jumps with heights and timing escalating. The goal of this class is to make your children better dancers.

This class is a great way to dip your toe into a fun new dance. Each class is held on a weekly basis and is focused on one dance. Each class builds on the previous week's curriculum to provide a cohesive learning experience. Different dances will be featured each month. .

This is a truly original and classic version, that will highlight the Halloween Fairytale of a very good witch helping a sister and brother and their friends, to find and save their stolen and unique pumpkin.
Dance experience is preferred.
