Ballet Levels 1-5 classes
BALLET 1 (ages 8-12)
In this class barre and center work is introduced, age appropriate stretches, basic leg and arm positions are still a focus of this class. Working on improving balance, hopping, skipping, jumping, and galloping.

BALLET 2-5 (ages 8–16)
Each class includes a 1.5-hour ballet technique class followed by 30 minutes of pointe or pre-pointe work. Dancers continue to develop strength, balance, flexibility, coordination, and proper placement while reinforcing classical ballet fundamentals and terminology. This summer format helps students maintain technique, build endurance, and stay in shape while progressing confidently in their ballet training.

August 17–20 | Nutcracker Prep Camp
This focused camp is designed to prepare dancers for the Nutcracker audition process, with special attention to the technique, artistry, and style required for this beloved classical ballet.
Participants will work on Nutcracker-specific choreography, refine classical technique, and revisit previously learned material to achieve a more polished and confident performance. By combining new choreography with familiar repertoire, dancers deepen their understanding of character, musicality, and performance quality.
This camp is ideal for dancers who want to strengthen their technical skills, expand their repertoire, and approach Nutcracker auditions with confidence, precision, and artistry.

Competition Preparation Camp – Classical & Contemporary, August 3–6, 2026 | Ages 9–18
Our Competition Preparation Camp is an intensive, open training experience for dancers who want to strengthen technique, artistry, and performance quality in both classical and contemporary styles.
This camp is perfect for dancers who are curious about competitions, preparing for future opportunities, or simply looking to elevate their training in a focused and supportive environment.
Who Can Attend
- Dancers ages 9–18
- Open to all dancers, MBS & non-MBS
- No prior competition experience require
- Ideal for motivated students seeking growth and challenge

Summer Pre-Ballet Camps
Ballet Art & Craft Camps – Ages 4–7
Ballet Art & Craft Camps at Minnesota Ballet School are a magical experience for children of all interests, whether your little one is naturally artistic or just loves to move and play. Campers will enjoy:
- Learning dances – gentle, age-appropriate ballet routines designed to build confidence, coordination, and a love for dance.
- Creative arts & crafts projects – children will make fun items such as magic wands, fairy wings, crowns, and miniature tutus. These creations will be incorporated into their dances, making each performance uniquely theirs.
- Mini performance for parents – on the last day of camp, children will proudly showcase what they’ve learned in a charming mini recital for family and friends.
Dress Code:
- Girls: Pink tights, pink leotard, pink ballet shoes.
