Audition Intensive Ballet Camp

March 17, 12 pm Minnesota Ballet School

Audition are held for Summer Intensive Ballet Camp in order to provide Vaganova syllabus instruction to the most diverse and talented students.
During our auditions, Minnesota Ballet School faculty evaluate participants based on their performance at the time of audition. Placement offers are final and are not negotiable under any circumstance. Online pre-registration closes at 11:59 pm CT the Friday before the audition.


Auditions are open to all male and female students ages 9-21.
Group 1: age 9-12 one year ballet experience required.
Group 2: age 12-21 two years pointe experience required.

ŸStudents who pre-register will receive a discounted registration rate ($25), priority check-in, and early audition results notification. Day-of registration will require an increased fee ($40) paid in cash only. It is strongly recommended that you pre-register online.

ŸAll audition fees are non-refundable regardless of circumstances.
ŸResults will be sent to parents’ email addresses only. Pre-registered students will receive their results within 3 business days. Day-of registered students will receive their results within 10 business days.

Video Audition Guidelines Video auditions may only be submitted by applicants 12 years of age and older. Videos not be longer than 10 minutes. The video content must present the student alone in a studio.
• The full range of barre, center, jumps, and pirouettes should be included.
• For female applicants, at least two combinations en pointe, centre including adagio, plies, and jumps.

Intensive Ballet Camp

July 8-19 Monday through Friday 9am-4pm

Minnesota Ballet School Summer Intensive Programs offer comprehensive training in Russian classical ballet technique (Vaganova syllabus) and skills development.
For four hours each day, dancers will participate in ballet class focusing on the barre, center work and jumps, pointe work, and variations from classical ballets such as “Sleeping Beauty” “Giselle” “Corsair” and many more. Students will continuing classes such as Contemporary and Aerial Ballet, Character dance and partnering.
With unique knowledge of the Vaganova Method, guest teachers and faculty staff will emphasize basic stance and correct placement, turnout, aplomb, epaulment and port de bras as well as simple batterie and turns on two legs and on one leg.  An exciting opportunity to increase skill, knowledge, technique, and endurance.
